Sometimes I really really (really) wish I could be that super cool mom…the one who wears vintage mary janes and funky colored tights with really quirky print dresses. Or maybe I’d just stick with my usual all black, but I’d have this collection of really kitschy brooches and pins that I had found in thrift stores and souvenir shops along the way as I traveled the world. And maybe I’d stay up late working on something creative after I put Nomi to bed…like writing a screenplay, or baking delicious organic breads, or designing my own line of quirky print dresses to pair with my vintage mary jane collection.
But here’s the truth:
I just don’t think I can pull off colored tights, I always end up wearing converse or ballet flats even when I do make the effort to carry my fancy shoes to work with me, and I’d never wear all those brooches. I’m just too lazy in the mornings. Baking all that organic bread would be stressful rather than relaxing for me, and I don’t have any good ideas for a screenplay anyway. Instead, I’m going to go buy another black sweater from Old Navy (I have a gift card! Because to know me is to understand how much I love the simple stylings of an effortless and reasonably priced black knit.) and go to bed at 9:30. That’s **jazzhands** worthy if you ask me.
