Pretending that Zeb called me right now and said SURPRISE DATE, he would be dismayed if I asked him if I should wear a dress for SURPRISE DATE and would instead want me to get rid of my “uppity” work clothes and sport jeans and a t-shirt. Then we would dine on fast food Mexican. But if the kids are at a baby-sitter, it’s still a date.

Ugh. That was NOT The Dress. But it was Some Dress that’s for sure.
Don’t you think you should have a dress ready just in case you get asked to go for cocktails? What if Zeb called you right now and said “SURPRISE! We’re going on a date tonight!” You should have The Dress ready to go at a moment’s notice.

Alternatively, a Sparkly Top will do as a stand in for The Dress.

I…have never been asked to go out for cocktails. Not ever. Pedicure, once. Cocktails, never. Unless we count you asking me, a decade ago, right after we spent the afternoon shopping for The Dress. (I still think the fuzzy pink muppet dress was The Dress, but whatevs.)

Gum smacking drives me crazy, too. Unless I’m totally alone. Then I might smack. Maybe. Sometimes.

All fruit flavored sodas now taste like glucose test drinks to me now.

It was tough but we somehow did not laugh. We had to continue the conversation about not biting our friends. Meanwhile, when I dropped her off this morning, Drew came up to us when we walked in and said to me “Naomi Rieger bit me” So at least they have all their details right. Then they ran off to play together so I guess it’s all water under the bridge.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. The most awesome part is that Naomi has learned to call all her friends by their first and last names. So you don’t even have to wonder who she is going to be biting. She is very, VERY specific, and hilarious. How did you even keep a straight face during this conversation?
